EAGLES SOAR IN HOME OPENER, ROUT MOUNTAIN EMPIRE 11–0

By Logan Memorial Sports Desk

The reigning Division 5-AA champions didn’t just return to the pitch Tuesday night—they returned with authority. In their first match since capturing last season’s title, the Logan Memorial Eagles dominated Mountain Empire 11–0, delivering a performance that felt like a continuation of their championship run.

Gabby Puts on a Masterclass

If Logan Memorial needed a spark to open the season, Gabby brought the fireworks.
The Eagles’ attacking superstar delivered two hat tricks—a jaw-dropping six goals—in one of the most explosive performances the program has ever seen. Her scoring was relentless, her movement unstoppable, and her impact undeniable.

She also added two assists, proving she’s the engine of the Eagles’ high-powered offense.

Freshman Mayte Makes an Instant Impact

Earning Defensive Player of the Game, freshman Mayte showed poise, toughness, and control in her varsity debut. She anchored the back line all night, shut down threats early, and even tacked on a goal to cap her breakout performance.

Future Stars Shine, Veterans Deliver

Freshman standout Luz netted two goals, showcasing the athleticism and confidence that make her one of the program’s rising stars.

Senior leader Heisel, a core piece of last year’s championship squad, delivered a complete performance—scoring two goals and handing out four assists, guiding the attack with precision.

Alexa added a key assist to round out the scoreboard.

Andrea Locks Down a Clean Sheet

Behind every dominant team performance is a steady presence in goal—and Andrea delivered exactly that.
The Eagles’ keeper recorded her first clean sheet of the season, controlling her box, communicating with the defense, and ensuring Mountain Empire never had a chance to build momentum.

Her calm leadership in the back made Logan Memorial’s lopsided victory look even smoother.

Coaching Staff Earns Milestone Win

A special shoutout goes to the coaching staff as well.
Congratulations to new assistant coach Devin, who helped Head Coach Rodriguez start the season 1–0. Together, they guided the Eagles to a statement performance worthy of their championship pedigree.

Looking Ahead

The Eagles made one thing very clear: Logan Memorial soccer is built to compete, built to dominate, and built to defend its crown.
Their next challenge arrives on December 3rd at 6:00 p.m., when they host Classical Academy in what promises to be a high-energy matchup.

If Tuesday is any indication, the Eagles aren’t just back—they’re better than ever.

December 3rd. At home. Under the lights. Eagles ready to fly again.
