Nick Floyd, an accomplished Athletic Director and PE Teacher, brings a wealth of experience to LMEC. With a background in coaching at both high school and college levels, Coach Floyd has left an indelible mark on the sports community. His tenure at St. Augustine High School included helping the team secure a CIF Title and participate in the CIF State Regional Championship Game. Additionally, Coach Floyd has guided numerous student-athletes to successful careers across various levels, from CFL to Div. 1 and NAIA.
Coach Floyd’s own athletic journey began at Southwestern College in San Diego, CA, where he played football before transferring to Division 1 football at Duquesne University. His achievements include being a Conference Champion at Duquesne in 2012, a two-year starter, and recognition as the best defensive back at Southwestern College in 2010 and 2011. His expertise extends beyond the field, as he holds degrees in Psychology (A.A. from Southwestern College, B.A. from Duquesne University), Sports Management (M.S. from Duquesne University), and Education (M.A. with a Single-Subject P.E. Credential).
With a strong network of colleagues, including Richard Sanchez, Shawn Pomatto, and Dionicio Monarrez, Coach Floyd aims to establish a robust athletic presence at LMEC. He is also pursuing an Ed.D. in Education, further enhancing his commitment to excellence.
